Wow - that is tough. My only recommendation is to contact your local government's franchise authority and discuss the problem with them. They may have better contacts with Charter or AT&T. Often the customer service folks do not understand the probem, which in your case may be as simple to solve as hanging 300 meters of cable to your house. They may have some problems with distance (cable TV and Internet lines sometimes suffer too much loss based on the distance from a repeater or transceiver), but it should not be too difficult to connect your house.

I am 8 or so miles from my small town. I'm restricted in a 1/2 mile stretch of geography that technology has forgotten. If I go a quarter mile to the North I can get dsl, cable, or cellphone service if I go a quarter of a mile to the south I can get the same services. I have contacted both Charter Communications and AT&T. Both have stated that they can do nothing for me. I even asked the AT&T representative if they could put a cell tower on my property to get us a wireless connection and they send the inquiry to an upper level and I never hear back from anyone. What is wrong? I am one of three homes that would gladly use the service and I am ignored.
